✖ Via Hand Made Poster: “I Am Your Father” by Dolk, handpulled screenprint, paper: keycolour recycled, claywhite, 250 gsm., 70 x 50 cm., signed and numbered: edition of 500.
“Dolk Lundgren, or simply Dolk (Norwegian for dagger/knife), is a Norwegian stencil artist whose work has rapidly gained popularity since first being introduced to the masses via Wooster Collective (street works) and Pictures on Walls (POW) (commercially available prints). His “official” biography, courtesy of POW, stated, “The premier stencil artist in Norway and wise beyond his years, Dolk has been voted ‘most likely to succeed’ by his classmates at vandal school.” POW went on to say, “Direct from Bergen, Norway we present Dolk Lundgren. An exciting new artist who lists amongst his hobbies ‘sex, sex, and vandalism’.” Dolk’s profile from Stencil Revolution lists his occupation as “fluffer” and states his interests as “stencils, painting, exploring, sex.” (much more)

✖ Via Geek Are Sexy: James Hance, “Force By Northwest”

About this particular painting (via ArtBreak):

“this piece has had some very much appreciated publicity recently (August 2009), unfortunately the original painting no longer exists and I’m not overly happy with the quality of the prints, I will be repainting this on a large canvas with much more detail. The original painting and a limited run of sign prints will be available here.”

About James Hance:

“I paint in acrylics, mainly on wood board. I pick up well-loved and slightly sorry looking frames from thrift stores and the like as I feel they sometimes offer just as much character to the painting as the painting itself. :)

I’m inspired by television and movies from my childhood. It’s funny how you watch some of those things today and wonder why you were so obsessed with them at the time. I remember the Fonz being SO much cooler than he actually was. My paintings are basically just placards screaming ‘Childhood! It was amazing! I want it forever, please!’ I paint mainly in my pajamas, watching the Muppet Show and eating cereal. I’d like to think it shows.” (more)
